Paper reports progress of investigation conducted by Stevens Institute of Technology for U S Army Tank Automotive Command, into effects and eventual limits of high supercharging on experimental, aircooled, loop scavenged, 2-cycle, single-cylinder test engine which incorporates principles of heat isolation and controlled combustion; because of continuing nature of program, detailed data are not included; indicated mep of 450 psi and 2 hp/in. are most significant accomplishments to date.
