Passenger and car ferry Jens Kofoed is of 3000 tons gross, and for Danish company A/S Bornholmsfaergen A.F.; hull was built by Bartram and Sons, Sunderland, to launching stage and then towed to Bremer Vulkan Schiffbau and Maschinenfabrik, Vegesack, for fitting out and installation of machinery; length oa 288 ft 1/2 in., breadth molded 53 ft 1 3/4 in., depth molded 32 ft 1 3/4 in., draft 13 ft 1 1/2 in.; passenger accommodation is in 2, 3 and 4 berth cabins; 60-100 cars can be stowed; propulsion is by twin screws; each of 4 9-cyl MAN engines, manufactured by Bremer Vulkan, develops 1300 bhp at 400 rpm which is reduced to 280 rpm at shaft.
