Twin screw ferry Malali was built by Sprostons Ltd to order of Transport and Harbours Dept, Gov British Guiana; 1000 passengers and various vehicles can be carried; length oa 184 ft, breadth molded at waterline 35 ft, depth molded 11 ft 3 in., draft loaded 7 ft, displacement loaded 763 tons; 2 6-cyl Lister Blackstone diesel engines each develop 495 bhp at 750 rpm continuous rating.
