Study of supercharging at low speed for purpose of obviating gear change and improving economy; in author's opinion, supercharger should gradually go out of action so that at high speed there is practically no increase of horsepower with speed; he believes that American method of over-dimensioning engine is out of question for European conditions as it leads to great fuel consumption and unduly heavy chassis.
