Review places emphasis on following regimes -- laminar, transitional to turbulent, and turbulent; chemistry involved is also discussed; neighborhood of corner where free shear layer starts, recirculation region including base and neck, and region downstream from neck, up to point of transition are distinguished; transition to turbulence is reviewed only to extent that it might occur in wake itself rather than on surface of vehicle.
