Paper considers control system in which wing flaps and elevator are operated in response to signals of four types of airplane-motion sensors; gust response characteristic of such system is studied on basis of statistical concepts and formulated in mathematical terms; influence of system variables on alleviation is illustrated and utility of each sensor is discussed.
