Some recently declassified experimental data of rolling moment caused by sideslip measured at low speed on aeroelastic model of Douglas XA3D-1 airplane are presented; review of early simplified methods of analysis and correlation of one of methods with experimental results is shown; problem of estimating wing dihedral effect is reformulated in terms of structural and aerodynamic influence coefficients to utilize advances in lifting surface theory; experimental data and other examples indicate that aeroelastic change in dihedral effect at limit load factor can equal value measured on rigid models.
