From examination of pilot maneuvers, number of handling qualities parameters or factors are derived; estimates for desirable values of these factors are obtained by comparing analytical results with pilot ratings and comments from study done on Transport Landing Simulator at NASA Ames Research Center; maneuvers include tracking localizer beam, large turns, and decrab when landing in crosswind; 12 interrelated handling qualities factors are derived; analytical-experimental correlation is done for three proposed supersonic transport configurations and operational subsonic jet.
