Span of Federal Aviation Agency aeronautical research includes aircraft safety, navigation, air traffic control, aviation weather, airports and aviation medicine; paper is limited to following aspects -- airframe strength, exhaust and heater systems, stability augmentation systems, study of design-induced pilot error; new display and control configurations, and twin-engine airplane propeller interconnection; procedures employed to conduct work; four current projects are Oxygen Equipment and Supply, Minimum Performance Standards for Radio Navigation and Communications Equipment, Ice Protection Requirements, and Maximum Operating Altitude.
