Prediction of fatigue life of YS-11 airplane by means of full-scale tests, as well as by additional component tests, is discussed; structure and operation of equipment of full-scale fatigue test, method to guarantee fatigue life of YS-11 by fatigue test of full-scale airplane structure, and main damages which grew in carrying on fatigue tests are described; based on test data, it is concluded that life of YS-11 airplane can be guaranteed completely for period of 30,000 flight hours by safe-life and fail-safe theory.
