Survey of ground-school equipment ranging from classroom aids to flight simulators, in use or available to airline crew training schools in Great Britain; two air corporations, BOAC and BEA, have massive involvement in training of all kinds, and their facilities, including methods used, are described; procedure trainer are used for such tasks as navigation and route radio training; type trainers are computer controlled and used for type procedure training in same way as in simulator; full simulator is individually designed to be representative of particular aircraft that it can be used not only for familiarization and emergency training but can be approved for mandatory checks, including instrument ratings.
