Civil Super StarLifter is now proposed with 37 ft longer fuselage than basic military C-141A; aircraft could carry 14 airline standard 88×122 in. pallets, plus nearly 1400 cu ft of ramp and rear-door special container volume; using present day airline standard pallets, Lockheed claims that Super StarLifter can show 10% return on investment for operations on 2500-mi hauls at 8 cents/ton-mi; Super StarLifter deliveries could begin in 1968; general-arrangement drawing showing lengthened fuselage of Super StarLifter project is included.
