Jet wake degradation and thrust characteristics of 11 exhaust nozzle models designed for dynamic pressure and temperature reduction in jet were evaluated statically, using hot gases and unheated air, and similar tests were conducted with reference circular nozzle; additional tests were conducted to determine effects of fuselage and/or proximity of ground plane upon thrust and jet wake characteristics; results show significant jet wake degradation for nozzles tested, in and out of ground effect and with various fuselage configurations.
