Automatic assembly 12-station, in-line, transfer type machine, built by Vauxhall Motors' Production Engineering Dept, is installed at Ellesmere Port factory, to produce Viva cylinder head assemblies at net rate of 100 assemblies/hr; machine assembles inlet valves, exhaust valves, springs, spring retainer caps, and split collars to head of Viva 1-liter 4-cyl engine; operation of machine and step-by-step procedure are described.
