Description of new line of V-8 engines available for Chevrolet cars in 396 and 427 cu in. displacements, 366 cu in. heavy-duty truck engine and 427 cu in. heavy-duty marine engine; Turbo-Jet engines are conventional in overall appearance; 425-hp. 427 cu in. engine differs in external appearance from lower horsepower versions only in that it has dual snorkel air cleaner, fiveblade, thermomodulated fan, variations in intake and exhaust manifolds, and idler pulley arrangement; 366 ou in. truck engine has two-barrel carburetion, 8 to 1 compression ratio, and produces 220 hp and 345 lb-ft of torque; major components of engines are described.
