In effort to cut down on nighttime traffic accidents it is suggested that consideration might be given to improvements in vehicle lighting; two possible measures which might be taken are prohibition of use of auxiliary front lamps to provide alternative beam to that from dipped headlamps, and adoption of dimmed headlight system, primarily for use in towns; reasons underlying these suggestions are discussed.
