Ford's GT Mark II near perfect racing car comes in two models -- hardtop (XI) and roadster, both of them faster than anything ever seen in road racing; it is powered by stock 427 cu in. engine, has top speed of some 220 mph and ability to keep running all day; Ford's aerodynamically effective bobtail is being adopted in United States passenger cars; improved tire design, probably most important technological fallout from racing, is discussed; Ferrari 330/P3 and Dino 206/5 as well as Porsche's Carrera racers are also briefly described.
