Description of needle roller bearing universal joint, developed by Torrington Co which features compactness and high torque capacity; there are two basic sizes of joint for steering systems, each having maximum angle of misalignment of 350°; smallest, YST-8 will accept continuous torque of 45 lb-ft but will withstand in emergency torque of 80 lb-ft; this is suitable for cars up to about 2000 cc swept volume; larger joint, YST-17, is rated at 65 lb-ft and has emergency torque capacity of 100 lb-ft.
