Influence of oscillations on different parts of car and on behavior of car must be investigated by measurement; this is only possible statistically because of randomness of oscillations; description of most important methods of deriving statistical parameters; methods are illustrated by examples; measurements of spring travel by potentiometer attached to axle are described and evaluated for different highway surfaces.
