Ore cars moving iron ore concentrates from Wabush Mines in central Labrador to St. Lawrence River near Sept Isles, Quebec, operate in unit trains, permanently linked in sets of three, from mine to port; 117 three-car sets are all arranged to be loaded and unloaded while in motion; rubber-tired wheels, mounted on hatch cover hinges and on side sills, are turned by wayside ramps at appropriate points with resulting rotary motion translated into proper cycles of hatch and door opening and closing; cars were built by National Steel Car at Hamilton, Ont.
