German and Allied conceptions of air freighter use compared; idea of converting bombers to passenger and cargo carriers rejected; need is for landplane to carry 10-ton payload over long ranges, fully loaded weight of which would be between 50 and 60 tons and total power would be 6000 to 8000 hp; wooden construction, taking advantage of reinforced wood and thermosetting plastic adhesives, would make for light and easy construction.
