Study of lateral motions of highly simplified model of railway vehicle on straight track; development of asymptotic form of periodic motion for high and low (near-critical) speeds; it is found that any motion starting with small deviations from periodic motion approaches latter in course of time; this approach is slow for very high speeds and for near-critical speeds, but fast for intermediate speeds.
