Depth telemetry system to be used with midwater trawling experiments has been developed and successfully tested; system furnished continuous depth information from fishing gear operating to depths of 1350 ft (414 m); strain gage pressure sensing transducer was mounted at trawl end of electrical towing cable; electrical towing cable was used with commercial fishing gear for 10 mo without conductor breakage or steel armor failure.
