Basic features of disturbed motion of helicopter are discussed, and question of separation of longitudinal and lateral modes is examined; account of entire family of helicopter stability derivatives is presented with emphasis on derivatives involving cross-coupling between lateral and longitudinal modes, and flapping and downwash derivatives; method is developed of calculating tail-rotor parameters to trim, and values of tail rotor derivatives are deduced; expressions are presented for all 36 derivatives of complete helicopter.
