Electrical structure of D and E regions was investigated on series of rocket flights using spherical electrostatic analyzers; concentration of positively and negatively charged particles was obtained at noon, midnight and sunset over altitude region 50 to 190 km; daytime results are compared with theoretically deduced charge distribution based on average values for X-ray, UV and cosmic ray flux; significance of measured values of ratios of negative ions to electrons and positive ions to electrons.
