Procedure developed by combined research project of Ship Structure Committee and Committee on Ship Steel of National Research Council, for studying influence of chemical composition and deoxidation upon transition temperature of ship steels; influence of carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulphur, silicon and vanadium; transition temperature is progressively raised by increasing carbon, phosphorus and vanadium contents.
