New system developed by Pleuger and Co, Hamburg, and fitted to their 80-gross ton Diesel electric vessel "Pleugerpumpe 2", is fitted with two " active rudders" incorporating streamlined, torpedo shaped housing for waterproofed a-c squirrel cage motor driving propeller; assembly mounted on vertical shaft; propulsive power can be directed at any desired angle.
