Cargo vessel, Michigan, employed principally to carry liquid caustics from chemical plants in Detroit to New York and liquid sugar on return trip to Detroit, operated by Michigan-Atlantic Corp; length oa 253 ft; beam 36 ft; depth at sides 15 ft; gross tonnage 1100; cargo capacity 1500 net tons; original Fairbanks-Morse engines in service 28 yr, have been replaced by two 5-cyl Model 31A8 1/2 Fairbanks-Morse Diesels, each developing 275 hp at 525 rpm.
