Socony Vacuum Oil Co towboat is equipped with Kort nozzles and contraguide rudders; vessel, built by St Louis Shipbuilding and Steel Co, has length 156 ft, beam 35 ft, depth 11 ft and draft 8 ft; all bulkheads of 3/8-in. plates are stiffened both vertically and horizontally; propelled by 2 General Motors Diesels and Falk reverse reduction gears, each driving 4-blade 102-in. diam propeller.
