In connection with conversion of steam locomotive shop at Clearing yard, Chicago, into shop for handling heavy repair and running maintenance of Diesel electric power, Belt Railway of Chicago erected separate sanding and fueling facilities for servicing Diesels assigned to hump operations and those assigned to other service; sand is blown 120 ft in one direction for hump Diesels and 375 ft in another to service other locomotives; sanding and fueling facilities illustrated and described.
