Causes of smoke pollution and possible methods of prevention; wind tunnel experiments on model ships to study flow pattern of funnel gases, in relation to estimated conditions of normal operation pertinent to ship, and to devise means of diverting flow boundaries which descend to deck level within dimensions of ship.
