Built by Smith's Dock Co for service to West Indies; much of cargo consists of hardwoods, in logs up to 70 ft; vessel is open shelter deck type, with cruiser stern and three main cargo holds; length oa 349 ft 11 in.; breadth 47 ft; depth molded to upper deck 28 ft 10 in.; deadweight capacity 3800 tons; propelling machinery, constructed by Smith's Dock Co, consists of triple expansion engine with cylinders 21, 35, and 60 in. diam by 39 in. stroke.
