Author states that while 1-way and through streets, progressive signal systems, and urban expressways have greatly expedited movement of truck traffic in cities, little has been done to alleviate congestion caused by trucks stopping to load or unload; factors directly responsible for serious deficiency of loading space, both off-street and at curb are set forth and discussed.
