Example of how traditional wirebound crating materials, imaginatively used, can reduce shipping costs, eliminate damage, and save valuable storage space; specially designed triangular crates are used to ship washing machine transmissions; crates average four round trips, and some have made six round trips; in 2 yr since switching to wirebounds, there has not been any report of damage to transmissions in transit.
