Describes new type of guide-blade apparatus, the Hass contrapropeller, in which guide blades are placed in front of revolving propeller and not behind it, as with normal Wagner type; results of tests made at Hamburg experimental tank on this apparatus and with new wake-using propellers for determining distribution of wake behind ship.
