In type C-1 autopilot, developed by Minneapolis-Honeywell for precision flight control in bombing, six potentiometers measure electrically any deviation of airplane's position with respect to gyroscopic references; by means of autopilot control panel, human pilot can both execute maneuvers and make adjustments for variation in flight conditions.
