Two basic methods, namely, primary and secondary soundproofing, are briefly analyzed; former concerns reduction of noise at its sources, such as propellers, exhaust, engine, and others; latter consists of application of soundproofing materials to impede transmission and increase absorption of noise that has penetrated into, or is generated within, cabin; soundproofing materials and methods of using them, described.
