Examples show that take-off distance of only 500 m is possible, even with aircraft of high wing loading and high power loading; it appears that large sums put aside for runway extensions in planning post war airports, should be used for development of aircraft on line shown in paper; increase in wing loading would lead to economic aircraft for long distances.
