Discussion indicates development of inland transport in England in years between 1800 and 1840, and deals in some detail with serious efforts made in latter half of that period to introduce mechanical road transport by steam; possibilities are discussed of using again home produced fuels on motor vehicles; efficiencies of various methods of doing this are reviewed and forecast made of survival of certain types of vehicles.
