Experience of Army has led to standardization on heavy duty oils for all engines of Ordnance vehicles, both Diesel and gasoline; two tests not required for commercial vehicles are included in specifications; stable pour point; requirement for SAE 30 and 50 grades, to insure against excessive foaming.
