Passenger traffic on New York, Susquehanna and Western Railroad, doubled by introduction of two 80-seat Diesel electric cars, has required building 140-seat twin unit; unit constructed by American Car and Foundry Co; each car is powered by two 210-hp Waukesha spark ignition oil engines; power is sufficient for acceleration to 73 1/2 mph within distance of 2 mi from dead start, and time of 3 min; each power plant is self contained.
