Description of project for line connecting Capetown in South Africa with Cairo, Egypt; at present it exists only by combination of railroad, river and ocean transportation, and traverses Cape Colony, Rhodesia, Congo, Tanganyika, Uganda, Sudan, and Egypt, length of 11,000 km, with 7500 km of railroad; 14 changes are necessary from Capetown to Mediterranean.
