Extensive tests were made of radio for head end to rear end 2-way telephone communication on freight trains; radio apparatus consisted of sending and receiving sets in locomotive and in instruction car which was coupled just ahead of caboose; experiments are being conducted in frequencies above 150 mc where channels are less crowded and, therefore, should be more readily available for permanent assignment.
