Illustrated description of hull repairs to steamship Hororata, as carried out at Horta with makeshift equipment; vessel was torpedoed by enemy submarine and explosion caused extensive damage to port side of hull at after end, in no. 5 hold and main between decks; timber, concrete and scrap steel used successfully in covering hole, 45 by 32 ft, in shell plating.
