There is no fundamental reason why human communities should not be transported to planets around neighborhood stars; however, time of transit from one system to another is so great that many generations must live and die in space in order that group may eventually reach given destination; there is no reason why interstellar exploration should not proceed along such lines; nothing less than complete conversion of matter into energy would bring about more satisfactory speeds.
