In operation of ground station identification channel, indication of station identity is received by airborne equipment and made available to pilot; code bracketing method involved transmission of third pulse from ground transponder at intervals synchronous with transmission of identifications information on associated VOR or ILS channel; during transmission of third pulse, 400-cps tone is injected into pilot's headset.
