Lifeboats of unusually large dimensions with davits of Welin-Maclachan type have been adopted in new express passenger liners Europa and Bremen; each vessel is provided with 22 boats each with capacity for 135 persons; in addition there are 4 boats for 25 persons each and 2 for 40 persons each, making total capacity for 3150 persons; details of design are given.
