Trends in growth of municipal motor-bus transportation are discussed; study of size of cities necessary as background for any determination of statistics of local bus services; tables and diagrams indicate changes that have taken place since 1920 and up to 1928 in city growth; number of cities have increased from 761 to 1032; growth of number of all-bus cities; in 27 states, cities have say in regard to who shall operate transportation to serve their residents; tendency toward one-man control of bus; private car as competitor.
