Series of seven vessels recently completed by Royal Packet Co., for services in Dutch East Indies; length b.p. 16 ft.; beam, molded, 28 ft. 8 in.; depth 10 ft.; deadweight capacity 400 tons; speed, loaded, 8 1/2 knots; each vessel is propelled by 5-cylinder Sulzer engine, direct reversible type, started and reversed by compressed air having cylinders with diameter of 300 mm., piston stroke 400 mm.; runs at 275 r.p.m. and develops normally 250 b.hp.
