Motorship built and engined by Harland and Wolff at Govan to order of Huddart Parker, Ltd., Melbourne, and intended for Australian service; length 430 ft.; depth molded 33 ft. 6 in.; gross tonnage 8108 tons; accommodation is provided for 358 first-class and 90 third-class passengers; propelling machinery comprises two eight-cylinder Harland and Wolf-Burmeister and Wain engines of four-stroke single-acting air-injection type, cylinders having diam. of 740 mm. and 1500 mm. stroke.
